A quiet moment - Blyde River Canyon
I can still be a Nia teacher.
I can still be the author of a series of novels about my life.
I can still be a person who flosses every day.
I can still be a silversmith and make the kind of jewelry I dream about.
I can still be a wife.
I can still be a mother.
I can still be the one to break the chain of "issues" passed on through the generations.
I can still be a ballsy driver unafraid to take to the streets of Rio de Janeiro.
I can still be a person who doesn't dislike corporate finance with every fiber in her body.
I can still be an adventurer and visit Madagascar, Guyana, India and the U.A.E.
I can still be a chorus singer.
I can still be the life of the party.
I can still be happy with my weight and shape.
I can still be a vegan.
I can still be one of those fashionable women who can rock a headscarf.
I can still be a person who knows where home is.
I can still be enlightened.
I can still be me.

I love this list. A few of them I will add to my own mental list.
I like your list and the picture is fantastic.
I was vegan for four years as a stroppy teenager. It has it's good points and bad points.
Are you vegan now or aiming to be one?
beautiful photo, beautiful list, beautiful you. :)
What is wrong with disliking corporate finance?
Wonderful photo - good list!
I'm not sure that I can be the person who flosses every day. I've tried for years!
But I wish you luck with it. :)
What a great list of things to be. I'm inspired.
~Kristine - I must go by your blog to see what else is on your list!
~Safiya - Thanks! I'm not currently vegan or vegetarian. Actually, being vegan in Mozambique I think would be next to impossible mainly due to the lack of soy products in this country. I'm not even sure that I'm aiming to be vegan, but it's an idea that appeals to me quite strongly for some reason...
~Ruby - Thanks, beautiful friend!
~Michelle - I guess there's nothing *wrong* with disliking corporate finance, I just really, really don't enjoy it. And unfortunately it's a significant part of our work here (but one that, for now, my colleagues are happy to take care of).
~Djpare - I'm not sure I can be, either! But I'll keep trying.
~Deirdre - Thank you!!
I want to rock a headscarf! It sounds like fun.
~JVS - Me too! I am so inspired by the things women do here with scarves.

"I can still be the one to break the chain of "issues" passed on through the generations"---YES YES YES!
This is a wonderful list! I love all teh things you can still be.
"I can still be a person who knows where home is"--- This makes me think of many things...
:)
Ali, I forgot to tell you what a nice butt you have. Nice butt.
~Non Vocab - heheheh. Yeah. I think dating a brasilian has created me an ass through osmosis!
Ali, "ass through osmosis" -- what beautiful almost-alliteration!
