One of my very, very favorite bloggers tagged me for this 8-based meme. I am glad to have something marginally mindless to write about tonight, as my brain is somewhat fried after too many hours spiraling wire and selecting matching pairs of trade beads (not an easy feat, given that these things wash up on the beach wily-nily).
Anyhoooo, here goes:

Lemme see, lemme see! :D
I will try and get round to this as it looks like a cool meme, I will also dig out those questions you asked me aaages ago.
Would the book called Infidel be by a certain Ayan Ali Hirsi? That woman is such a pest and that's putting it mildly.
~Kreativemix - Thanks, this was a fun meme to do. Just what I needed for a mindless night.
~Amber - I also wish I'd written that book. It is easily in my top 5 all-time favorites ever. It made me cry and laugh like few books have...
~Eugénio - Eu morei no Rio durante 1,5 anos, e no Paraná durante 1 ano. Vamos manter o contato!
~Jo Ann - Can't wait to see your take on this!
~Safiya - Yes, that's the one. I didn't know anything about Ayan Hirsi before reading the book, and I found it to be an interesting experience. I like to see all sides of an issue, especially controversial ones, even if I vehemently disagree with one extreme or the other. There were parts of her perspective that I could definitely appreciate and relate to; others, not so much at all. What I kept in mind the entire time is that the book Infidel is a story of personal experience, of one woman's perspective. It is not a book on what Islam is, or what the religion means for women. Keeping this in mind, I was able to get through the book and take a lot out of it without getting worked up one way or the other. I suppose this might be easier for me, an outsider to Islam. Especially since I have many voices to listen to, including yours!!
Cool - I haven't been tagged for a long time (well, for something other than the boring awards) so I'll get to this on the weekend.
And PLEASE show us pics of your haircut!!!
It's done, Ali! :)
Weird, your 8 passions pretty much match mine, especially the cat part. I have a bit of an obsession with cats. I also pride myself on being able to identify languages. BUT I must caution you on one of the places you want to visit: Dubai. It's the most awful, artificial, soul-less place on the planet. Chile is fabulous though, good choice.
