Synsepalum dulcificum

I found this article from the New York Times so incredibly cool it prompted about 30m of Google research. As the scientific name implies, it is a berry that has the ability to make sour/bitter foods taste sweet. I'd love to try this tastebud-twisting fruit, and imagine that a party based on its effects must be a rare new experience in these saturated times...

It's strange that it isn't more popular or widely known, especially considering how obsessed people are with taste sensations. I'd love to try it.
