Gratitude List

I'm in a bit of a slump today, so I'm trying to concentrate on the positive and turn my mood around.

Things I am grateful for today include:

1. Having a job that gives me financial security.

2. A cup of lemon tea being brought to my desk just when I need it the most.

3. Listening to house music full blast while I drive to and from the office.

4. Relief from a persistent itch.

5. E-mails from my Mom giving me real-time updates on her trip back to the US.

6. Being able to talk to Rico about how I feel.

7. A good friend coming over later this evening, even if it is for work stuff.

8. Feeling excited about new jewelry designs.

9. Cats.

10. Internet.

i'm glad you've taken a moment to pause and think of all you can be grateful for... i know from experience it's all too easy to forget the good things in life when you're feeling down or things aren't working out...

keep well...

Ali, i think this makes for a great therapy and we should all make such lists as often as possible. No matter how bad things seem, if you can put up such a list, it's still pretty good :)

Words of encouragement are written here in the previous comments, and I commend you for looking at the opposite side as opposed to only focusing on the negative. It takes true appreciation to look beyond current doldrums and remember what you have to be grateful for having in your life. I may steal your idea, if that's alright with you, and make my own list. Hey girl,
What about being happy about keeping your friend sane with a job? If it werent for you I would be running around like a headless chicken by now!

~Bart - Thanks. I've been catching up on your blog. Your hard work is an inspiration!

~Jane Poe - Yes, I felt more centered after making this list. Good exercise to go through during down moments.

~Alina - Getting that perspective that things are still pretty good is so difficult when you are in the thick of bad times, but the effort to make a simple list is a wonderful first step.

~Southern Goddess - Thank you! Please make a list of your own and let me know, so I can check it out. This is certainly not my idea, but a popular exercise I've seen throughout the blogosphere. :)
