More photos from the national crafts fair this past weekend at the Fortaleza de Maputo. This old fort is amazing - the perfect setting for exhibitions, parties and weddings. A friend told me about a wedding she went to at the fort where the entire garden courtyard had been illuminated with candles - including several suspended from the trees!
And here are several of my fellow artisans. Don't they look proud of their work?
~Lacithecat - I can imagine! We need a plan to get you back here, even if just for a short visit.
~Jo Ann V. - Pose total!!! He was really excited about having his photo taken.
I tried to give you some help with your literary challenge...
~Laundrygirl - It was especially cool because everyone at the fair was from a different province in Mozambique, so each table and each seller had a different culture and language.
~African Kelli - Next time you are in Moz, try and secure a few days in Maputo so we can hang out and I can play tour guide!
~Amber - I came home with a blow to my wallet as well. I bought so much stuff from my fellow artisans, but it was the kind of shopping that makes you feel good - beautiful items to bring home, and knowing that you are supporting local independent artisans.

Sigh ..
O último está fazendo "puse" ;)
This is so cool! It's like looking at open studios in a different part of the world.

Ah! That looks so beautiful! Good for you. I'd love to see that fort one day.
Good for you to do this! I am not sure I would have come home with any money! All of that is so beautiful.
