Trying to Keep My Head Above Water!

I'm overwhelmed and wish I had more time to do all the things I must accomplish before my trip to Brazil on Saturday. I also wish I had a car. And real living room furniture. And a Valentino dress, and a house with a garden, and a pony...

I'm tired and up too late. Also battling a sinus infection. Again. Ugh.

More later, most likely tomorrow during one of the inevitable periods of boredom I get during the day.

Btw, I was reading that Moz is the lastest and hippest beach destination. Have you seen much evidence of that and has it been a good thing or bad thing?

P.S Happy packing :)

~Jenna - I arrive on Sunday and leave on the 16th, I think. I will also be back for a few days from Jan 9 -14. We are meeting with the wedding planner on Monday, but so far those are my only plans! I wanna go to the beach!!!

~Safiya - I have seen several travel magazines this year listing Moz as one of the top 5 hot spots. Definitely true, there is a giant boom in the tourism industry, especially high-end. I think it is a mixed blessing for the country, as the increas in tourism development obviously provides jobs and revenues, but it also can lead to destructin of the original beauty of the beaches and the domination of much of the land by foreigners (esp. South Africans!).

It will all get done in enough time. Then you can relax on the beach with a caipirinha! Have fun in Brazil/US!

Have you seen the page at http://www.expatwomen.com/countries/links_mozambique.php

It's pitiful - that is, there's nothing there! When you're having those bored hours at work, maybe you could help them make their page something worthwhile! (And with that Ali la Loca touch....)

;-)

~Vanessa - Caipirinhas, pasteis de carne seca com aipim, cervejinha gelada, muita fruta. I will eat it all, my friend, and toast you in the process!

~Chance - I've not seen that page yet. I will have a look and, knowing me, most likely will take on this project when I should be doing some other work that has a deadline. :)) Thanks for the idea!

Cool.

I have to admit - I have a bit of self interest on that. I've just been offered a job in Maputo and I'm trying to soak up all the ideas and info that I can, as is my wife. We've lived and travelled in Africa before (I more than she), but we've been in Pakistan for the past 5 1/2 years and are so settled that we can barely remember what it's like to move and to have to start all over again in a totally new place.

So we're looking forward to your accumulated wisdom after 2 years there.

By the way, I love the blog...

Cheers... Chance

~Chance - What an exciting opportunity! Please feel free to e-mail me with any specific questions you may have: rosa_brazil at yahoo dot com. I am going to try and get something on that page over my month-long holiday!
