Starting from early Feb to End of April I will stay in Maputo, working for my doctors thesis in several hospitals, mostly Maputo Central Hospital. From my point of view if would be the best solution, staying in a share house situation. I'd prefer the city centre, as I won't be able buying/renting a car. Do you have any idea how I could find something suitable? I am not picky at all, very easy going. But it should be not too expensive, as I am on a students' budget..
Maybe there are some Facebook groups where people post if they are looking for a roommate? ..
Would be awesome if you had a hint for me!
Thank you a lot and all the best
LuciMartelinhohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12949347112939365968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11955271.post-59186350552015104752016-12-14T13:45:53.961-08:002016-12-14T13:45:53.961-08:00Hi Ali,

I'm from the USA, but speak fluent Brazilian Portuguese. My girlfriend is Brazilian, and works in the mining sector. She's excited about the prospect of me getting the job, and is willing to come with to Moz. However, she's worried about finding work. I've read your posts on foreign employment, so I know a bit about the difficulties already. She's a mining engineer, with experience in Brazil and several other parts of Africa.

My question is this - does mining have a reputation for being a foreigner-dependent industry? Or said differently, when you were in Moz last, did you know many expats working in mining?

Given that we're not married, I don't think I can sponsor her visa to come with me. We're trying to figure out whether she could come and freelance as a language tutor, and if so on what type of visa and for how long. Did you have friends who came and did similar, less formal work?

Thanks in advance Ali. If I can feel confident about getting my girlfriend a happy, fulfilling life in Moz, then I'll jump there immediately. Our worries about this are the only thing holding me back right now.

Best,
MWAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15079266579899972983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11955271.post-68329323082700757862014-10-25T01:21:51.699-07:002014-10-25T01:21:51.699-07:00

My boy friend was informed today that he was selected for a job in Maputo. Having scoured the internet for hours, I've been frustrated at the lack of good online resources. Your posts have reinvigorated my excitement and eased my anxiety about the move. THANK YOU!Nathan Reaganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15066887260855547035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11955271.post-64711638082933332932012-06-05T13:28:57.468-07:002012-06-05T13:28:57.468-07:00So good post

When moving, consider price, too- cheap moving companies can be hard to come by. US-1 Van Lines fits the bill- something for you to consider the next time you move domestically.Naomihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17753671301417246544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11955271.post-46668144418372765262010-08-30T14:30:04.401-07:002010-08-30T14:30:04.401-07:00I have a friend that born in Mozambique and he'...I have a friend that born in Mozambique and he's always telling me that it is beautiful and it's amazing place to enjoy.Generic Viagra Buy ViagraViagra Onlinehttp://www.safemeds.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11955271.post-21346080691599071382010-08-15T22:21:17.100-07:002010-08-15T22:21:17.100-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.shakirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00682106773923870214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11955271.post-18988656247439133712010-02-15T00:42:42.500-08:002010-02-15T00:42:42.500-08:00Ooo, this was so good. As if I am still to come live here.

The most difficult thing for me is learning Portuguese. I never really put an effort. I guess with my background in learning languages I thought it would be the breeze. I will be giving it a second chance though.

I am also spending at least a week in Pretoria monthly. Which makes me a stranger in Moz again. Its the only way for my real estate business at home to survive. All the best with your AAJewels. Hard work wins, ALWAYS.Mbinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15230363420574855167noreply@blogger.com
