I've always assumed I'd hate the climate in the Pacific Northwest due to all the gloom and rain and relative cold, but perhaps one can only really know after living there.

I do tend to favor tropical, humid places - you're right. However Vietnam was too much. It was miserably hot and humid while we were visiting, and I was definitely not at all comfortable.

I'm happy to report that Maputo's weather for now is quite pleasant, and I am enjoying the last temperate days before summer hits full force.

I'm going to return to our honeymoon reporting soon - and after that, I imagine there will be a shift from travel blog back to regular blog. :)Ali Ambrosiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00521627345210424042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11955271.post-29848012152815529402008-09-03T13:41:00.000-07:002008-09-03T13:41:00.000-07:00I couldn't help but comment on that look of pure j...I couldn't help but comment on that look of pure joy and ecstasy on your face -- sitting in an air-conditioned car on an intolerably humid day.

I don't know why you're drawn to those hot, humid environments, when everything you've told us about yourself, says you're a temperate climate person. Of course, the locales are not as exotic and foreign so it is good that you get that sightseeing out of the way before you've seen it all and decide to settle down in your own best climate.

The pace of your travels have obviously picked up in the last several months -- and you've morphed into aq travelogue (blog), in a very interesting and candid way.

I've moved to Salem, Oregon myself since I last commented on your fascinating adventures and have found the climate here surprisingly nearly perfect -- though that was not my initial reason for moving here.

Even Honolulu was a little too warm and humid for me, so your comment that people can get used to anything, is not true. There is a perfect climate for everybody -- which feels invigorating, relaxing and rejuvenating.

Usually, people living in unagreeable climates have poor performing economies because the people's entire energy goes towards just surviving the brutality of their daily conditions. That's no way to live.

Congratulations on your happy marriage.Mike Huhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12013523987628611883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11955271.post-81414168484205618282008-08-31T13:54:00.000-07:002008-08-31T13:54:00.000-07:00~Monkey - Perhaps my giant-ass sunglasses are obsc...~Monkey - Perhaps my giant-ass sunglasses are obscuring the nasty, sweaty, sticky disgusting mess that I was over our entire honeymoon. I'm glad you think I (we) look halfway decent...we certainly didn't feel that way. I know for a fact there were sweat beads dripping down my legs in that photo with the giant vase!Ali Ambrosiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00521627345210424042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11955271.post-55103282928435249462008-08-31T08:42:00.000-07:002008-08-31T08:42:00.000-07:00I think it's downright unfair how beautiful you lo...I think it's downright unfair how beautiful you look in tropical climates.
